In response to 5 fun-facts before dating a typical Igorot guy, here is 8 FUN FACTS ABOUT A TYPICAL IGOROT LADY.
1. A TYPICAL IGOROTA EXPECTS YOU TO TAKE HER OUT ON A DATE.
A boat ride at Burnham park, movie at centermall–sm?. A walk up and down session road. Hold her hand once in a while, it does not have to be grand, she just wants to be with you.
2. SHE IS COMFORTABLE WTH JUST LOTION ON.
Do not expect her to wear make up and fake eyelashes (unless it’s a graduation pictorial, an entourage for a wedding or some more special occasions). Some even have allergies to these products.
3. NO, SHE DOES NOT POP GLUTA PILLS.
Most Igorot ladies have fair to white skin contrary to the belief of some people that Igorots are dark skinned people. Ibalois especially have this natural glowy white skin.
4. YES, SHE DRESSES DIFFERENTLY.
Do not expect her to go out wearing short-shorts, tank tops and high heeled 8 inches shoes. SHE WON’T. She is comfortable in her lee jeans, t shirt, jacket and if youre lucky–hoodie, and boots/sneakers and if you’re extra extra lucky, it’s not a shoulder bag she carries–a backpack man, a backpack!
5. SHE IS PREPARED FOR EVERYTHING.
Do not ask her: “kaya mo?” (Can you?). Because absolutely she can and will. She might even do it better than you do. Never under estimate her ability to do things. Laking bundok yan (she grew up in the mountains).
6. FEED HER, FOR GOODNESS SAKE!
Don’t bring her to fancy expensive restaurants where the plate is so big and the food is just one spoonful. Bring her to eat-all-you-can buffets, good taste would be great! And let her eat.
7. SHE IS FIERCE.
Never insult her race if you would not want your nose to bleed from an English rant with accent. Never ever insult Igorots in front of her if you still want to see the sunrise.
8. And lastly, SHE’S GOT THOSE CALVES.
She is proud of her calves, and even if people laugh or notice them a lot. She would still be proud to flaunt it. It’s an Igorota’s asset and pride. Ask her about em’ and she will tell you a long record of walking.
